SIALKOT: PML-N MNA Khawaja Asif gave Jinnah Abadi plot ownership certificates to 617 people in a ceremony held at Anwar Club here on Saturday.
CM’s special adviser Mansha Butt, DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal, officials and citizens were present in the ceremony. The winners of the ownership certificates were chosen through a lucky draw. Addressing the ceremony, Kh Asif said the Punjab government was utilising all available resources for the poor. He said a strict merit was followed in the allotment of the plots in Jinnah Abadis across the Punjab. He said the Punjab government was trying its best for relief for common people despite a lot of hurdles caused by the central government. He said during its tenure the Punjab government had developed education and health sectors and took effective measures in fighting against dengue epidemic. Khawaja Muhammad Asif inaugurated the construction of Govt Khawaja Safdar Medical College, which would cost 600 million rupees and would be completed in June 2013. The DCO on the occasion the bed capacity of Govt Allama Iqbal Hospital would be doubled from 400 beds to 800. He added that new blocks would also be constructed in the hospital in this regard.
